It's one of the most common questions we receive: "Which Everything DiSC® profile should I use for my managers — Management or Work of Leaders?" Both products belong to the same family and share the same behavioral model, but they serve different needs. Here's how to tell them apart.
The core distinction: 1-to-1 vs. 1-to-many
The central difference between the two profiles comes down to the type of managerial relationship they address.
Everything DiSC® Management focuses on the relationship between a manager and each of their direct reports, individually. How do you delegate effectively? How do you motivate someone based on their style? How do you develop a team member while honoring their natural tendencies? This profile gives managers concrete tools for those everyday, one-on-one interactions.
Everything DiSC® Work of Leaders operates at a different level: that of the leader who guides a group or an organization toward a shared result. It structures leadership around three dimensions — crafting a vision, building alignment around that vision, and championing its execution. The lens is broader and more strategic.
Everything DiSC® Management — who is it for?
This profile is especially well-suited to operational managers who want to:
- Better understand their own management style and how it lands with their team members
- Learn to read the DiSC style of their direct reports from observable behaviors
- Adapt the way they delegate, give feedback, and develop each individual
Everything DiSC® Management is available in both French and English. It is delivered through the Catalyst platform, allowing the manager to revisit their profile and use it as a reference in everyday interactions.
Everything DiSC® Work of Leaders — who is it for?
This profile is designed for people who exercise a broader leadership function — whether a senior executive, a senior manager, or a high-impact project leader. It is grounded in extensive research on effective leadership practices and translates those practices into concrete behaviors accessible to all DiSC styles.
In particular, it surfaces how a person's natural style influences each of the three leadership dimensions: Vision, Alignment, and Execution. It helps identify which behaviors to reinforce or adjust, depending on the context.
Note: Work of Leaders is currently available in English only.
What if both profiles seem relevant?
That's often the case — and it's not a problem. A manager who is growing into a broader leadership role can benefit from both profiles at different stages of their development. Everything DiSC® Management first, to consolidate the fundamentals of individual management. Work of Leaders later, to develop the strategic and collective dimensions of leadership.
